horses and 3 got into races. First, Her Chevron ran in Washington in
a MSW at 6.5F. He showed nothing in the race but came back Ready to
Go so he will be running again in week 1803.
Also running this week was Soft Slapshot. And what a win at 23-1. She broke right on top and just continued to lengthen the lead. At the top of the stretch she was in front by over 8 lengths and won by over 7 lengths. The speed figure was 87 at 8.5 furlongs. Off to allowance company. I don't have high hopes but her first win was so easy I guess the speed figure could have been higher. Finally, another surprise win! V. Affair ran a 91 winning a New Hampshire MSW race at 6 furlongs. Also off to allowance company in week 1803. |
| 1796 | 5 | 12th, 14th, 13th, 9th, 13th | 0 | 46 | Time for my first homebred! Slewdledo x Accordion x Al Mamoon. This one cost 23 points, bumped up to the minimum 25 points. I don't know how I got stuck on Slewdledo. I was looking at results (from Hollywood Park, I think) and saw that this horse sired a winner of an allowance race there. Anyway, I looked him up and he has many offspring. He is the top sire in Washington state (whatever that means :). Goodbye to We B Trippen, a 13th place finisher this week. | All the cheap horses ran to their odds this week. Don't be fooled by the ninth place finish for Voronina, there were 12 horses in the race. These horses will take the week off and race again in week 1810. The other four horses (my CPU horses) will be entered next week. |

the first bargain bred, According to Slew. He broke last in the slop
at Dubai. He did pass some horses to finish 8th. He lost by
6.25 lengths going 5F. I think he will do better in a longer
race.
Clever Ringer ran his first career race and finished 7th. His speed figure was blah 58 but he also ran on a sloppy track. One or two more tries in MSW races and then probably off to maiden claimers. A winner the first time became a 6th place finisher this time. V. Affair had to race this week so he was over matched in a non winners of 4x race. Next time this horse should step back in allowance company and run against non winners of 2 lifetime. Also, a turf race may be in this horses near future. Finally, the savior of the week goes to Her Chevron. Her Chevron finished 2nd in a MSW race. He was stretched out this time to 8 furlongs and he will be running long again. He broke in 2nd and at the 4 furlong mark he took the lead until the last couple of steps at the finish line. The 79 speed figure isn't that great, but for a 3yo in his second race, not too bad. |

Affair broke near the back of the pack but made a huge move in the stretch to win by a head. Most impressively he recorded a 102 speed figure in just his 3rd start. Clever Ringer and Soft Slapshot also ran - and were also rans! |

Finally performed my second breeding and had all three horses finish in the top 5. I may have another good horse in Soft Slapshot. She broke 2nd and finished 2nd. Over the 8 furlong course in Kansas she hit a 97 speed figure. |

Bargain bred According to Slew gave it a shot in the first Bargain Challenge Race and he was horrible. He lost by over 16 lengths. My other bargain bred, Wine Cooler fared better. She tried a 5 furlong sprint and held the lead until the stretch. She ended up 5th but this is not bad for her debut. The rest of the bunch, Diamond Jack, Gold Star Sky, and Voronina fared poorly this week. But they will be back for more in two weeks! |

I have been on vacation (this week and next week) so breeding, with this many points, will be picking up very soon. | Soft Slapshot gave the an excellent effort again this week. She traveled to Mexico in a cheap allowance and almost stole it from the front. She was ahead at one point by 4 lengths but lost the lead in the stretch to get third. After a 102 speed figure, V. Affair did not have another big race like that one. He finished 7th running a 94 SP. For a CPU horse, not too bad! In the maiden claiming ranks, Her Chevron scored many BPs by getting a second place finish. Finally, Art Deputy debuted and showed some speed. She will stretch out next time and see if that speed can hold for a longer time. |
